4 years agoMinnesota Twins designated hitter Nelson Cruz went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in Monday's 4-2 win over the Braves. Cruz took an upstairs fastball and crushed it 426 feet to left-center field, with the ball traveling at an exit velocity of 107.5 MPH. The 40-year-old raised his spring average to .300, along with eight hits and three runs scored in 10 Grapefruit League games. Whether Cruz sees a 2021 decline in numbers or not, it's still a refreshing sign to see him put the barrel of the bat to the ball, something he's done better than almost anyone in the majors over the last several years. He looks poised to be a solid four-category contributor once again batting in the heart of the Twins' order.--Tim Capurso
