Julio Teheran Departs Monday’s Outing Early
4 years agoDetroit Tigers right-handed pitcher Julio Teheran (back) exited Monday's Grapefruit League start versus Toronto early due to back tightness. Teheran struck out three batters over two innings prior to his departure, lowering his spring ERA to 2.45. After a disastrous 2020 campaign with the Angels (10.05 ERA), Teheran is looking to reclaim a full-time starting gig with Detroit. A two-time All-Star during his tenure with the Braves, Teheran threw at least 174 innings each year from 2013-19. Currently, the veteran is viewed as a final round Draft flier in season-long formats. Check back for updates on his status as they become available, but the move appears to have merely been precautionary.
