4 years agoSeattle Mariners starting pitcher Justus Sheffield made his second-to-last start of the spring Monday, building up to 78 pitches. Sheffield allowed two runs on four hits and three walks while striking out five. The only major blemish came in the form of a two-run home run allowed to Chris Taylor in the fourth inning. The five walks are somewhat alarming, but Sheffield carried a 50th percentile walk rate of 8.6 percent in 2020, so the lack of control Monday may be the natural result of working on locating secondary pitches. Sheffield figures to be a streaming candidate for fantasy managers to start the 2021 season.--Doug Goldring - RotoBaller
