4 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies right-handed pitcher Zach Eflin (back) has been targeted as the club's starter for their third game of the season against Atlanta on April 4. Eflin has dealt with a back ailment during spring camp, but the club plans to have him throw a simulated game Wednesday before making one additional Grapefruit League appearance in the hopes of ramping up his pitch count. Eflin is coming off of a career-best 3.97 ERA last season, with his strikeout rate having skyrocketed to 28.6%. Fortunately for fantasy managers eyeing Eflin's upside, he appears set to play an integral role for the rotation out of the gates, even if his pitch count is likely to be somewhat monitored in his first start.--Jesse Borek
