Blake Snell Will Start Second Game Of Season
4 years agoSan Diego Padres starter Blake Snell will start the second game of the season Friday against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Yielding the Opening Day nod to fellow newcomer Yu Darvish, Snell will debut for the Friars after recording a 3.24 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 28 percent strikeout rate in five seasons with the Tampa Bay Rays. The former Cy Young winner has enjoyed a solid spring, tossing 9 ⅓ scoreless frames with a 0.75 WHIP. The 28-year-old has sharpened his command progressively each season and is positioned to be a steady four-category contributor in standard fantasy formats. He's a fine selection as an SP2 this draft season.
