Brandon Kintzler Makes Phillies Opening Day Roster
4 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies relief pitcher Brandon Kintzler was told he made the Phillies Opening Day roster, according to MLB.com's Todd Zolecki. Kintzler has pitched to a sub-three ERA in two straight seasons and will provide depth at the back end of the bullpen in his first season in Philly. The 36-year-old has closing experience with the Twins having accumulated 46 saves across the 2016 and 2017 seasons. Kintzler seems to be behind Hector Neris, Archie Bradley, and Jose Alvarado in the Phillies bullpen and, given his lack of strikeouts, doesn't hold much fantasy value unless he finds himself in the close role at some point.
