Marco Gonzales Struggles Friday
4 years agoSeattle Mariners starting pitcher Marco Gonzales made his final spring appearance Friday, and it did not go well. Gonzales allowed six runs to the San Diego Padres on nine hits and two walks. He struck out four and allowed one home run in five innings. Gonzales now carries a 6.32 ERA with a 1.66 WHIP for the spring. Gonzales has been very productive over the last several years, despite a less-than-ideal strikeout rate, because of his ability to limit baserunners and produce strong ratios. Gonzales enters the year as a top-40 fantasy option, but his rough last two spring tune-ups could leave cause for concern.
