Eugenio Suarez Expected To Be Everyday SS
4 years agoThe Cincinnati Reds are expected to make Eugenio Suarez their everyday shortstop this season, according to general manager Nick Krall. It is highly likely that Suarez is at shortstop on Opening Day when the Reds face off against the St. Louis Cardinals. Krall said, "I feel good about it. He has played well. He has moved really well at short. He's made all the plays in the field. He's done everything you need him to do. I'm excited about it, actually." Suarez at shortstop will allow Mike Moustakas to reclaim third base and gives upstart rookie Jonathan India a shot at winning the second base role. Suarez has 40-homer potential in his bat, making his eventual eligibility at shortstop a bonus for fantasy gamers who roster him.
