Montreal Canadiens signed the former University of Wisconsin forward Cole Caufield to a three-year entry-level deal. Caufield led NCAA Division 1 college hockey with 30 goals as a 20-year-old sophomore. He is expected to report to Laval of the American Hockey League. During the season, for Caufield's play, he earned his way into a top ten finalist for the Hobey Baker Award, given to the best NCAA Division 1 player in the country. Caufield should not impact fantasy hockey unless Montreal decides to bring him up from the AHL soon.
