Kris Bryant Not Expected To Play Too Much Outfield In 2021
4 years agoChicago Cubs third baseman/outfielder Kris Bryant isn't expected to play much outfield in 2021 according to manager David Ross. Bryant is traditionally a third baseman, but has seen time at the corner outfield positions throughout his career. With Jason Heyward and Joc Pederson set to be everyday starters in right and left field, Bryant will in turn focus on the hot corner for the Cubbies. Bryant has dealt with a flurry of injuries over the past few season and manager David Ross sees this as an opportunity to keep him fresh. Bryant has a lot on his shoulders this year with free agency around the corner and he will look to cash in this offseason. The former MVP is off to a slow start with just six hits in 36 at-bats this spring to go along with one home run. He has slipped down draft boards due to his recent struggles and should be worth the gamble in the early half of the middle rounds in upcoming drafts.
