Carlos Rodon Earns Spot In Starting Rotation
4 years agoChicago White Sox starting pitcher Carlos Rodon will begin the season in the White Sox rotation. Rodon secured the spot with a strong spring and the recent demotion of starting pitcher Reynaldo Lopez. The veteran lefty was non-tendered by the White Sox this offseason, but returned to the only team he's known as a big leaguer. Health has always been the veteran's biggest concern, but he has sported a strong 1.32 ERA in four appearances (three starts) in the Cactus League and has struck out 16 batters in 13 2/3 innings. Rodon will be playing behind a strong offense and should be able to help managers looking for wins and strikeouts. He makes for a fine late round pick in deeper formats, but draft him with caution due to his past injury history.
