4 years agoTexas Rangers starting pitcher Kyle Gibson had a nightmare start to the 2021 season and failed to get out of the first inning in a 14-10 loss to the Kansas City Royals. The veteran right-hander allowed five runs on four hits and three walks over just one-third of an inning on Thursday. Gibson was expected to provide stability to an unproven pitching staff but his first game of the year quickly depleted the bullpen as six relievers threw at least an inning in the messy loss. The 33-year-old is just two years removed from a 13-win season but he was also roughed up in 2020. Last year, he allowed 73 hits and 30 walks in 67.1 innings. He's signed with Texas through the 2022 season.--Marc Hulet - RotoBaller
