4 years agoWhen the Texas Rangers awarded the starting first base job to Nate Lowe, it raised some eyebrows given that he was outplayed this spring by Ronald Guzman. However, Lowe made the decision look like a stroke of genius on Thursday when he drove in four runs in a 14-10 loss to the Kansas City Royals. The former Tampa Bay Rays prospect had two hits, including a double, but he also struck out three times. Lowe appeared in 21 games with the Rays in 2020 and had some swing-and-miss issues (37% K-rate) but he still managed to produce a 102 wRC+. He has 11 home runs at the MLB level spanning 71 games over two seasons and could provide a lot of pop for the Rangers in 2021 if he can make enough contact.--Marc Hulet - RotoBaller
