4 years agoSan Diego Padres first baseman Eric Hosmer went 3-for-4 with a home run, double and three RBI on Opening Day against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Hosmer ripped a solo shot in the third inning off D-Backs starter Madison Bumgarner and knocked in runs on his other two hits. After posting a solid 127 wRC+ last season, the 31-year-old kept capitalizing on his cushy batting spot amidst a loaded lineup. While he won't produce prototypical first baseman power, Hosmer could be a cheap source of RBI and average for fantasy squads. If Hosmer continues his positive trends in launch angle, 20-plus long balls in 2021 is feasible. He's certainly worth a look in deeper and NL-only formats.--Andrew Le - RotoBaller
