Wil Myers Blasts Solo Homer
4 years agoSan Diego Padres outfielder Wil Myers mashed a solo homer, drew a walk and scored two runs on Opening Day against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Myers went back-to-back with first baseman Eric Hosmer in the third inning to extend the lead in the eventual 8-7 victory. After blasting 15 homers in 55 games last season, the 30-year-old appears poised for another strong season. If he can keep his strikeout rate in the mid-20 percent range, Myers should provide balanced fantasy value with his power, speed and ability to accumulate counting stats in a loaded lineup.
