Ramon Laureano Reaches Twice, Steals Base On Opening Day
4 years agoOakland Athletics outfielder Ramon Laureano went 2-for-4 with a run scored and a stolen base in an Opening Day loss to the Astros. Laureano seems to have the green light to run as he swiped third base despite being down 3-0 in the seventh inning. This bodes well for his fantasy value as Laureano should already score plenty of runs batting second for a good A's lineup. His batting average cratered to .213 last season, but that can mostly be chalked up to an unlucky BABIP. Laureano boasts elite plate discipline and will be on base plenty to steal and score runs. That alone makes him a must-roster player in category-based fantasy leagues. He could be a nice buy-low opportunity early in the season with the hope his batting average bounces back with better batted-ball luck.
