Garrett Hampson Not In The Lineup On Friday
4 years agoColorado Rockies center fielder Garrett Hampson is scratched from the lineup on Friday vs. the Los Angeles Dodgers. Hampson started in center field while batting seventh in the Rockies' home opener on Thursday but that was against a lefty in Clayton Kershaw. He played well, going 1-for-3 with two runs scored, an RBI, and a walk. He'll take a seat against Trevor Bauer on Friday with Chris Owings starting in center field and batting seventh in his place. Ryan McMahon, who was scratched on Thursday, is starting at second base and batting sixth. This is not a good development for Hampson managers that were hoping he'd earned regular playing time after a stellar spring training. He could be stuck in a three-way platoon with Owings and McMahon, which would dampen everyone's fantasy value. The Rockies are slated to face RHP Walker Buehler on Saturday so we'll see what kind of lineup manager Bud Black decides to use.
