Nick Castellanos Ejected Saturday
4 years agoCincinnati Reds outfielder Nick Castellanos was ejected during the fourth inning of his team's Saturday game against the St. Louis Cardinals. Castellanos was hit by a pitch during the inning and was visibly displeased with pitcher Jake Woodford afterward. He wound up coming around to score from third on a wild pitch and flexed over Woodford, who was covering home plate on the play, causing benches and bullpens to clear. When order was restored, Castellanos was the only player ejected. He was replaced by Aristides Aquino in the outfield. Castellanos did some posturing after a Thursday homer, with his team down six runs, which may have been the precursor to the extracurricular activities on Saturday. It remains to be seen whether he faces additional discipline from the league.
