4 years agoToronto Blue Jays second baseman Marcus Semien was held hitless on opening day but he broke out in the second game of the season with two hits and a walk over five plate appearances. The effort was not enough, though, as the club lost 5-3 to the New York Yankees. One of his two hits cleared the outfield fences against Yankees starter Corey Kluber. The veteran infielder struggled offensively with the Oakland Athletics last season with seven home runs and a 92 wRC+ in 53 games. However, he's just two years removed from hitting 33 homers with a 138 wRC+ in 162 games. Semien has been hitting leadoff for the Blue Jays with George Springer (oblique) on the disabled list.--Marc Hulet - RotoBaller
