4 years agoNew York Yankees designated hitter Giancarlo Stanton will have the day off on Sunday, according to USA Today's Pete Caldera. Manager Aaron Boone said that he did not want to play Stanton in five straight games before the Yankees' off day on Thursday, and Sunday was the best chance to give him some rest. Boone added that he expects Stanton to be back in the lineup for all three of the team's upcoming series with Baltimore. With Stanton out, Aaron Judge will start at designated hitter, while Brett Gardner will get his first start of 2021 in left field and will bat ninth.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
