Ke'Bryan Hayes (Wrist) Lands On 10-Day IL
4 years agoPittsburgh Pirates third baseman Ke'Bryan Hayes has been placed on the 10-day injured list with a left wrist injury. Hayes injured his wrist on a swing during Saturday's game against the Chicago Cubs. He later received X-rays, which showed no break or fracture but did reveal some inflammation. The Pirates have decided to play it safe and stash him on the injured list after he had difficulty participating in "baseball activities" earlier on Sunday. Infielder Wilmer Difo has been called up to the active roster to replace Hayes. It sounds like the young superstar has avoided a serious injury and the Pirates are doing the right thing by giving him time to heal before rushing him back. He should stay the minimum 10 days on the injured list before returning to action.
