Zach Eflin Dominates In First Start Of Season
4 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies starting pitcher Zach Eflin was outstanding in his first start of 2021 allowing only one run in seven innings with eight strikeouts. Eflin walked one and only allowed four hits in mowing down a Braves lineup that has struggled with Philly pitching early in the season. Eflin's lone mistake was hanging a curveball to Travis d'Arnaud in the seventh inning which the Atlanta catcher mashed into the seats to tie the game and cost Eflin a win. The right-hander was a revelation in the 2020 season revamping his pitch-mix which led to a 10.3 percent spike in strikeout rate. He seems to have carried that success into this start and should be universally rostered in fantasy ahead of his next scheduled start Saturday in Atlanta.
