Jordan Lyles Leads Texas To First Win
4 years agoTexas Rangers pitcher Jordan Lyles gave the club a much-needed strong performance from the starting rotation. The 11-year veteran allowed just two runs in 5.2 innings of work in a 7-3 victory over the Kansas City Royals. He produced a K-BB of 8-0 and allowed just five hits — including a sixth-inning homer to Royals catcher Salvador Perez. Lyles' first season in Texas in 2020 was far from successful. The right-hander produced a 7.02 ERA in 12 appearances (nine starts) and he allowed 67 hits in 57.2 innings. The club also received strong performances today from relievers Wes Benjamin and Ian Kennedy who combined for six strikeouts in 3.1 innings. The club is now 1-2 on the season.
