Mike Foltynewicz Struggles With His Command
4 years agoTexas Rangers pitcher Mike Foltynewicz was roughed up in his first game of the season as the club fell 6-2 against the Toronto Blue Jays on Monday. The veteran right-hander struggled with his command and allowed three walks and four hits — including two home runs. He threw 95 pitches in just four innings of work. On the plus side, he struck out seven batters. Foltynewicz was bombed in his only MLB appearance in 2020 and he's coming off of a difficult spring that saw him allow 15 hits and four walks in just eight innings spanning three starts. With Texas desperate for pitching, the 29-year-old will no doubt have a relatively long leash to work out his issues.
