Jose De Leon Strikes Out Nine Vs. Pittsburgh
4 years agoCincinnati Reds right-hander Jose De Leon pitched well in his first start of the season, allowing two runs over five innings of work. De Leon struck out nine and walked two in a 5-3 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Monday. The veteran right-hander allowed both of his runs on two solo homers in the first inning but was able to calm down after that. De Leon won a spot in the rotation after Sonny Gray and Michael Lorenzen both started the season on the injured list but he is likely to be shifted to the bullpen once Gray and Lorenzen are able to return to action.
