James Paxton Suffering From A Forearm Strain
4 years agoSeattle Mariners starting pitcher James Paxton (forearm) left Tuesday's start against the White Sox after recording just four outs, as a result of discomfort in his throwing arm. After the game, manager Scott Servais classified the injury as a forearm strain. Paxton himself said that the injury was or could be related to the strained left flexor that ended his season with the Yankees in 2020, though Paxton saw reason for optimism in that this injury is not causing him as much pain. Paxton will go for an MRI Wednesday, but given the foreboding nature of forearm injuries, and Paxton's extensive personal injury history, fantasy managers have plenty of cause for concern. Be prepared for Paxton to miss some time. If that's the case, Nick Margevicius would be the leading candidate to take Paxton's rotation slot.
