4 years agoToronto Blue Jays pitcher Tanner Roark started off the 2021 season the same way he ended 2020 — by getting crushed during a 7-4 loss to the Texas Rangers on Tuesday. The veteran right-hander allowed six hits — including three home runs — which led to five runs over three innings of work. Roark did not walk a batter and struck out two but generally lacked the ability to consistently miss bats. His slider is supposed to be his best offering but he allowed three hits on 14 sliders, including two of his home runs. Roark is in the final year of an ill-advised, two-year $24M contract that has not worked out. Last season, he posted a 6.80 ERA with 60 hits and 14 home runs allowed in 11 starts.--Marc Hulet - RotoBaller
