4 years agoChicago White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson (hamstring) has been placed on the 10-day injured list retroactive to April 5. Anderson left Sunday's contest after the first inning when he strained his left hamstring running to first base. The All-Star tried to tough it out the past couple of days, but now finds himself sidelined until April 15 at the minimum. Infielder Danny Mendick will take Anderson's spot on the roster and utility man Leury Garcia figures to continue getting the bulk of the work at shortstop. With it being so early in the season, it's probably the right move to let Anderson have some time off and rest. Anderson will be one of the top shortstops in the league when he is healthy and can help across the board. Garcia has hit just 2-for-20 on the season and can be avoided for now.--Daniel Burdeen - RotoBaller
