4 years agoToronto Blue Jays outfielder George Springer (quadriceps, oblique), who is already out with an oblique injury, suffered quadriceps tightness while running the bases during his rehab. He has undergone an MRI to determine the extent of the injury. This is obviously terrible news for the club, which was preparing to activate Springer prior to the team's home opener on Thursday in Florida. The good news is that the club has been hitting relatively well in his absence, and the top three hitters in the Jays lineup have five of the club's eight home runs. Randal Grichuk, who entered the day hitting .500, is most likely to benefit from Springer's delayed return, although Jonathan Davis could also receive more exposure.--Marc Hulet - RotoBaller
