4 years agoSeattle Mariners starting pitcher James Paxton (elbow) has received a recommendation for Tommy John surgery, according to Jon Heyman of MLB Network. Paxton was injured in his first start of the season on Tuesday, as he exited in the second inning with forearm tightness. This is a crushing blow for Paxton, who was looking to have a bounce-back season after returning to the Mariners from a two-year stint with the Yankees. While it's not official that he will have the surgery just yet, managers can safely drop him in all redraft formats.
