Anderson Tejeda Recalled From Alternate Site
4 years agoTexas Rangers infielder Anderson Tejeda was recalled from the club's alternate training site on Friday. He was activated to take the place of injured utility player Brock Holt (hamstring). Tejeda is in the lineup on Friday night playing third base. Normally a shortstop, he had recently been playing the position at the alternate site and was showing off his power. The 22-year-old made his MLB debut last season but had never played higher than A-ball prior to that move. In 24 MLB games, Tejeda produced a 92 wRC+ and struck out at a 39% rate. He hit 19 home runs in A-ball in 2018 and power is his best tool. Tejeda has only Culberson to battle for playing time at the hot corner.
