4 years agoToronto Blue Jays outfielder Lourdes Gurriel Jr. was removed from Friday night's 7-1 loss to the Los Angeles Angels in the top of the third inning. The Cuban outfielder was experiencing side effects from receiving the coronavirus vaccine, according to manager Charlie Montoyo. The removal initially caused added concern as the club placed fellow outfielder Teoscar Hernandez on the COVID-19 list prior to the game due to possible COVID-19 exposure. Montoyo hopes that Gurriel Jr. will be feeling better and able to return to game action on Saturday or Sunday. He's hitting .192 so far this season in seven games. The team recalled outfielder Josh Palacios from the alternate training site.--Marc Hulet - RotoBaller
