Rafael Montero Blows Another Save
4 years agoSeattle Mariners relief pitcher Rafael Montero entered the game Saturday with an opportunity to collect his second save of the year, but instead registered his second blown save. Montero simply could not find the strike zone, walking two (one intentionally) while also hitting Byron Buxton with a pitch. Montero's job is not in any danger just yet - he's still only allowing a .69 WHIP over his 4.1 innings this year, but he'll have to avoid outings like this one if he wants to hold off the suddenly-stellar Kendall Graveman for the closer role.
