4 years agoSan Diego Padres first baseman Eric Hosmer finished 2-for-5 with a homer Saturday against the Texas Rangers. Hosmer got the Friars on the board in the fourth inning with a solo blast, his third of the season. The 31-year-old is off to a phenomenal .355/.412/.710 start with 13 runs-plus-RBI to accompany the long balls. While Hosmer's 50 percent HR/FB rate and -3.7 degree launch angle scream an unsustainable power surge, his production has been buoyed by a strong 94.9 mph exit velocity. Even as his results normalize, Hosmer's on his way to 20-plus homers as a four-category fantasy contributor. Managers in deeper leagues should certainly ride the hot hand.--Andrew Le - RotoBaller
