Chris Paddack Hit Hard in Four Innings
4 years agoSan Diego Padres starter Chris Paddack lasted just four innings Saturday against the Texas Rangers, allowing three earned runs in a no-decision. Paddack's customary meltdown inning came in the second frame, when all his runs came on four consecutive base runners and three extra-base hits. He was yanked after just 71 pitches, permitting four total knocks and a walk while striking out three. After two short outings to start 2021, it appears the Friars are losing confidence in the 25-year-old who seemingly cannot avoid the calamitous inning. With the imminent return of starter Dinelson Lamet (elbow), Paddack's time in the rotation is looking shaky. He lines up to start again next Thursday against the Pittsburgh Pirates and will be a tough sell in fantasy.
