4 years agoChicago White Sox general manager Rick Hahn said on Sunday that outfielder Adam Engel (hamstring) is progressing and could return for the teams next homestand that would start on April 23. Engel got hurt late in camp with a right hamstring strain. Engel is known for his defense, but had a very nice spring with a .278 batting average to go along with three home runs, a double, two triples and seven RBI. Engel had his best season in 2020 and hit .295 with three home runs as a platoon player. Engel is more known for his defense, but that is what will keep him in the lineup. Engel's return would hurt outfielder/first baseman Andrew Vaughn even more and could even send him to the minor leagues to get everyday at-bats. Depending where Engel will be batting for the White Sox, he can be considered in deeper AL-Only leagues for now.--Daniel Burdeen - RotoBaller
