4 years agoChicago Cubs shortstop Javier Baez hammered his third home run of the season to provide the lone run of the game in a 7-1 loss to the Pittsburgh Pirates on Sunday. It was his only hit in four at-bats on the day and he struck out in his other three. Baez is entering free agency for the first time in his career and primed for a bounce-back season after a rough 2020 campaign. Baez is capable of helping with power and speed and has plenty of upside. Managers should be happy with the results so far and safe starting Baez on an everyday basis.
