Robbie Ray Activated From IL, Will Start Monday
4 years agoToronto Blue Jays pitcher Robbie Ray (elbow) was activated from the injured list and will start Monday's game against the New York Yankees. The veteran right-hander had been out with an elbow bruise since late in the spring after he slipped and fell at home. He last pitched in a game on March 19. Overall during the spring, Ray posted a 1.98 ERA with a K-BB of 18-5 in 13.2 innings of work. Last season in the majors, the 29-year-old pitcher posted a 6.62 ERA with a K-BB of 68-45 in 51.2 innings but threw much better after being traded from the Arizona Diamondbacks to the Toronto Blue Jays. In 2019, he struck out 235 batters in 174.1 innings.
