4 years agoToronto Blue Jays starter Robbie Ray (elbow) threw well during his first game back from the injured list after hurting his elbow in a fall during spring training. Despite his solid effort, the Jays fell 3-1 to the New York Yankees on Monday. Ray's command wasn't as good as it had been in the spring, but it was his first time pitching in a competitive game since March 19. Ray walked three batters and allowed three hits in five innings of work. He gave up just two runs on a homer by Yankees catcher Kyle Higashioka. In total, Ray threw 50 of his 84 pitches for strikes (60%). He's just two years removed from striking out 235 batters in 174 1/3 innings, so he could be a sneaky good addition in leagues where he's still available.--Marc Hulet - RotoBaller
