4 years agoMinnesota Twins designated hitter Nelson Cruz (illness) was scratched from Tuesday's lineup with an illness. Cruz will miss the opening game of the series against the Red Sox with a non-COVID-related illness. If Byron Buxton and Luis Arraez's illnesses are any indication, this shouldn't be a long absence for Cruz. Miguel Sano will get a breather from fielding for the day and serve as the designated hitter in Cruz's place, with Willians Astudillo sliding over to first base. Luis Arraez, who was slated to start in left, will play third base on Tuesday.--Tim Capurso
