4 years agoArizona Diamondbacks starting pitcher Zac Gallen made his season debut on Tuesday afternoon, striking out eight batters in four innings of work in a 7-5 loss to Oakland. After starting the year on the injured list with a hairline fracture in his arm, Gallen looked solid on the mound, allowing just one run on three hits and two walks with 55 of his 82 pitches being strikes. His one mistake of the day was a solo home run off the bat of Stephen Piscotty in the fourth inning, but otherwise Gallen cruised his way through the lineup.
