Wil Myers Exits Game With Knee Inflammation
4 years agoSan Diego Padres outfielder Wil Myers (knee) left Tuesday's game against the Pittsburgh Pirates with right knee inflammation. Myers made an awkward defensive play early in the game and was replaced by outfielder Jorge Mateo his next turn in the lineup. He was 0-for-1 with a walk prior to exiting. The Friars revealed after the contest he's been dealing with the issue since spring training. The 30-year-old has been the team's most consistent hitter, slashing .341/438/.659 with three homers, a steal and 19 runs-plus-RBI in 48 plate appearances. If Myers is forced to miss time, expect Mateo and utilityman Jurickson Profar to fill the void.
