Hector Neris Blows Save Versus Mets In Extra Innings
4 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies relief pitcher Hector Neris allowed two runs in 1/3 of an inning pitched to blow a save in game one of a doubleheader with the Mets. This was a tricky save chance as it was in extra innings - of a seven-inning doubleheader - so a runner started the inning on second. That runner scored an unearned run, but Neris also allowed three hits to let the winning run score and take the loss. Fantasy managers shouldn't worry about Neris losing his grip on the closer role over this outing. Jose Alvarado was used earlier in the game and Archie Bradley (oblique) is on the IL. Continue to start Neris with confidence he'll keep getting save chances for the Phillies.
