J.D. Davis Could Return Saturday
4 years agoNew York Mets third baseman/outfielder J.D. Davis (hand) could come off the injured list when first eligible this Saturday at Coors Field. Davis was placed on the 10-day injured list retroactive to April 7 by the Mets after getting hit in the hand with a pitch in a game against the Phillies the first week of the season. Reports on Wednesday indicate that Davis is able to grip a bat again and has been taking full swings. Davis should hopefully be back from the IL in the minimum amount of time. In the interim, infielders Luis Guillorme and Jonathan Villar will split time at third base in Davis' absence. Guillorme gets the call on Wednesday to play third base and hit eighth against the Phillies with David Peterson on the mound for New York.
