4 years agoToronto Blue Jays pitcher Anthony Castro threw two innings of relief on Wednesday afternoon during the club's 5-4 win against the New York Yankees. The right-hander had been recalled earlier in the day to take the place of injured reliever Julian Merryweather (oblique strain). Castro did not allow a hit or a walk over two shutout innings. He struck out one batter and induced four ground-ball outs. The 26-year-old reliever had been claimed off waivers from the Detroit Tigers in the offseason and had an outstanding spring training. During March, he posted a K-BB of 15-1 with a 1.93 ERA in 9.1 innings. He had one inning of MLB experience prior to this season.--Marc Hulet - RotoBaller
