4 years agoColorado Rockies' second baseman Garrett Hampson went 1-for-5 with four strikeouts in a 4-2 loss to the Dodgers on Wednesday in Los Angeles. After a decent start to the season, Hampson has scuffled at the plate over his last five games. He's just 3-for-19 over that span and hasn't swiped a bag since April 8. He's slashing .233/.314/.279 with no home runs, six RBI, four stolen bases, and a 12:6 K/BB ratio over 43 at-bats on the year. The Rockies are now 3-9 and have struggled to generate runs over their current five-game losing streak. If Hampson's struggles continue then he could be dropped down in the order as he's not getting it done as the everyday leadoff man. His fantasy value would take a hit if that's the case but if he's not getting on base then it doesn't matter where he hits in the lineup.--Jon Mathisen - RotoBaller
