Garrett Hampson Slugs First Long Ball Of The Season
4 years agoColorado Rockies center fielder Garrett Hampson went 1-for-5 with a solo home run and two strikeouts in a 7-5 loss to the Dodgers on Thursday. Hampson pulled a Julio Urias fastball over the wall in left field for his first home run of the season and his only hit of the night. He also struck out twice and now leads the team with 14 strikeouts on the season. The speedy 26-year-old has slowed down significantly since his hot start and is now batting .229/.304/.333 with one home run, seven RBI, and four stolen bases. He hasn't swiped a bag since April 8, mainly because he hasn't been getting on base with any type of consistency. He should still have some fantasy value as long as he bats at the top of the order but his days could be numbered at the No. 1 spot if he doesn't start reaching base more frequently.
