BALLER MOVE: Add in 12-Team Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 34% of leagues
ANALYSIS: Look out South Florida, there's a new star in town with a swing as smooth as silk and hair as blue as the ocean. Yes, Jazz Chisholm Jr. has arrived in the Majors and has forced his way not only into the Marlins' everyday lineup, and the lineups of fantasy managers.
The 23-year-old is as hot as any hitter in the game right now with eight hits in his last five games. He's got five runs scored, two homers and a stolen base in that span as well. There's nothing not to like about his game right now. He's scalding the ball with a 92.6 MPH average exit velocity and a whopping .604 xwOBA on contact. He's barrelling up the ball at a 30 percent rate which, while unsustainable, shows just how locked-in this kid is early in the season.
The most impressive thing about Chisholm, however, has been his plate discipline, something he struggled with at times in the minors. Chisholm is sporting a strong 9:7 K:BB ratio and is only chasing 20 percent of pitches outside the strike zone. He obviously cannot keep this pace up all season and MLB pitchers will surely adjust and find the holes in Chisholm's swing. Even when he regresses a little, Chisholm is a name that should be rostered in 12-team leagues and larger. He boasts 96th percentile sprint speed and should be rostered in all roto and category-based leagues.
