4 years agoToronto Blue Jays third baseman Cavan Biggio (hand) will not play today during the club's doubleheader with the Kansas City Royals. He is day-to-day with a hand injury that was suffered during Thursday's game when he was struck on the bare hand by a line drive. Biggio also dealt with an injury to his pinky finger in the spring. The versatile player is hitting just .171 with a 33% strikeout rate in 12 games so far this season. Infielder Santiago Espinal was called up from the alternate site to serve as the 27th man for today's doubleheader. First baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr., a former third baseman, could also see time at the hot corner this weekend.--Marc Hulet - RotoBaller
