4 years agoCincinnati Reds left-hander Wade Miley allowed four runs in five innings of work in a 6-3 loss to the Cleveland Indians on Sunday. Miley struck out five and walked one in the loss, his first of the season. All of the damage off of Miley came via the long ball as he served up a solo shot to Jose Ramirez and a three-run blast to catcher Roberto Perez in the outing. With his cutter averaging just 85.7 MPH in the game, Miley got just nine swings and misses in the start on Sunday. Thus far, Miley has been a decent fantasy pitcher this season although his lack of pure stuff limits his upside and leaves him open to the occasional blowup outing. On the other hand, he is backed by a Cincinnati lineup that has been explosive through the first few weeks of the season. Miley is worth a look as a steamer in plus matchups going forward although he's probably best avoided next week as he's lined up to face the St. Louis Cardinals next time out.--Matt T - RotoBaller
